The History Teachers' Association of Trinidad and Tobago (H.T.A.T.T) is a non-profit organization comprised primarily of history teachers. It is administered by an executive consisting of seven (7) members aided by several committees. It promotes the study and teaching of History in addition to professional support for those working in the area of History education.

The objectives of the Association shall be:

  • To improve the teaching of History in secondary schools and teachers' colleges through conferences, seminars, workshops and other avenues.
  • To facilitate the development and dissemination of resource materials related to the study of history.
  • To promote an appreciation of the value of history as a fundamental discipline in the curriculum for general education.
  • To cooperate and/or affiliate with other associations having a kindred interest.

The History Teachers’ Association Secondary School Debate is a national competition held in March. The association aims to foster interest and appreciation for history among students.
